PRE-WRITING (Think and
plan the Project) |
Prewriting is the first stage of the writing process, typically followed by
drafting, revision, editing and publishing. Elements of prewriting may
include planning, research, outlining, diagramming, storyboarding or
clustering (for a technique similar to clustering, see mindmapping).
Prewriting usually begins with motivation and audience awareness: what is the
student or writer trying to communicate, why is it important to communicate
it well and who is the audience for this communication. Writers usually begin
with a clear idea of audience, content and the importance of their
communication; sometimes, one of these needs to be clarified for the best communication. Student writers find motivation
especially difficult because they are writing for a teacher or for a grade,
instead of a real audience. Often lecturers try to find a real audience for students by
asking them to read to younger classes or to parents, by posting writing for
others to read, by writing a blog, or by writing on real topics, such as a
letter to the editor of a local newspaper. |
|
Pragmatic Experiential Learning: In the writing process, students
prepare in advance what they want to write and put it into their writing.
then, after getting the material, regrouping the things that will actually be
written down and entered into the table so that the writing process in
the future is structured. |
|
What were the two or three things you did very well with the
prewriting? |
|
|
1. Draft a piece of writing 2. Processing and entering
into the table |
2 |
DRAFTING (Get your ideas
down on paper) |
Drafting means getting your ideas down on paper. A rough draft is
a late stage in the writing process. It assumes that students have adequate
information and understanding, are near or at the end of gathering research,
and have completed an exercise in
prewriting. |
|
Pragmatic Experiential Learning: This innovative approach combines language
acquisition with entrepreneurship skills development, providing learners with
real-world experiences that enhance their language skills and entrepreneurial
mindset. Compilation phase in PBLL plays an important role in integrating
language learning and entrepreneurship by enabling learners to apply their
knowledge and skills in practical context. |
|
What were the two or three things you did very
well with the drafting your idea? |
|
1. Critical
Thinking: I can apply critical thinking to organize ideas well. I will
analyze the available information, consider various points of view, and
identify the strengths and weaknesses of each idea. This allows me to generate
higher quality and more detailed ideas. 2. In-Depth
Research:
Before putting together an idea, I tend to do in-depth research on a relevant
topic. I will look to reliable sources, read articles, studies, and other
sources of information to gain a good understanding of the subject. By having
extensive knowledge, I can generate more informed and substantial ideas. 3. Systematic
Organizing: I have the ability to organize my ideas in a systematic way. I
will organize main ideas and sub-ideas that are logically and coherently
related. I will also use a clear frame of mind, such as identifying goals,
creating an outline, or using other organizing methods, to make my ideas
easier to understand and follow. |
3 |
REVISING (Share and
reflect on your first draft) |
Revising
means to share and to reflect on your first draft. This will help writer
review how effectively readers communicate the message. |
|
Pragmatic Experiential Learning: Accept Feedback Openly: One of
the most important lessons learned is to receive feedback openly. When
receiving criticism or suggestions for improvement, it is important not to
take it personally. Instead, try to see it as an opportunity to improve your
writing or ideas. Try to understand the other person's point of view and
consider whether there are areas that need improvement or clarification.
Receiving feedback with an open mind will help improve the quality of your
ideas and improve your revisions. Prioritize Clarity and Harmony:
When revising, focus on increasing the clarity and alignment of your writing.
Check whether the message or idea you want to convey is clearly expressed and
easily understood by the reader. Also pay attention to the harmony between
the ideas in the writing. Make sure each paragraph or section is well connected
and the flow of thoughts is well organized. In revising, try to make your
writing more unified, cohesive, and structured. Removing Redundancy and
Redundancy: When revising, maintain the effectiveness of writing by removing
unnecessary redundancy and excess words. Examine each sentence and paragraph
carefully, and look for ways to convey the same message more concisely and
clearly. Avoid excessive repetition and pay attention to choosing the right
words to sharpen your writing. By eliminating unnecessary words or phrases,
your writing will be more focused and efficient. Check Grammar, Spelling, and
Punctuation: Apart from content, pay attention to grammar, spelling, and
punctuation when revising. Double-check your writing to make sure there are
no glaring grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, or problems with
punctuation. Read the text carefully, or if possible, ask someone else to
help check for errors that may have been missed. Eliminating grammatical and
spelling errors can improve the overall impression of a piece of writing and
increase the reader's confidence in the ideas conveyed. By applying these lessons, you
can do more effective revision and improve the overall quality of your
writing. |
|
What were the
two or three things you did very well with the revising? |
|
1. Clarity and Coherence: One aspect that can be done well during the
revising process is ensuring clarity and coherence in your writing. This
involves reviewing your text to make sure the ideas are expressed clearly and
logically connected. You can refine sentence structures, reorganize
paragraphs, or add transitional phrases to improve the flow of your writing.
Clear and coherent writing enhances the understanding and impact of your
ideas. 2. Grammar and Language Usage: Another important aspect of revising is to check
and refine grammar, language usage, and word choice. This includes reviewing
sentence structure, punctuation, verb tense consistency, and eliminating any
grammatical errors or awkward phrasing. A well-revised piece of writing
demonstrates a command of proper grammar and effective language usage, which
improves the overall quality of your work. 3. Audience Perspective: During the revising process, considering the
perspective of your intended audience is crucial. By putting yourself in the
shoes of the reader, you can assess whether your writing effectively
communicates your ideas and resonates with the target audience. You can
evaluate whether the tone, style, and level of detail align with the
audience's expectations and understanding. Adapting your writing to suit the
needs and preferences of your readers enhances the impact and reception of
your revised work. |
4 |
EDITING (Find and
correct any mistakes you have made) |
Editing is the process of selecting
and preparing written, visual, audible, and film medium used to convey information through
the processes of correction, condensation, organization, and other
modifications in various media, performed with an intention of producing a
correct, consistent, accurate, and complete output. The
editing process originates with the idea for the work itself and continues in
the relationship between the author and the editor. Editing is, therefore,
also a practice that includes creative skills, human relations, and a precise
set of methods. |
|
Pragmatic Experiential Learning: Clarity of Concepts: Ensure that
the concepts and ideas related to pragmatic experiential learning are
presented clearly and concisely. Review the document to make sure that the
terminology and explanations are easily understood by the intended audience.
Simplify complex ideas without sacrificing their accuracy or depth. Practical Examples: Include
relevant and engaging examples that demonstrate the application of pragmatic
experiential learning. These examples can help readers understand how
theoretical concepts are put into practice in real-world settings. Ensure
that the examples are diverse and cover various fields or industries to cater
to a broad readership. Seamless Flow: Pay attention to
the organization and flow of the document. Each section should logically
connect to the next, guiding the reader through the content in a smooth and
coherent manner. Use transitional phrases and clear headings to assist
readers in navigating the text. Alignment with Learning
Objectives: Check whether the document aligns with the intended learning
objectives of pragmatic experiential learning. Review the content to ensure
that it addresses key principles, methodologies, and outcomes associated with
this approach. Remove any irrelevant or tangential information that might
distract from the main focus. Consistency and Accuracy: Edit
the document for consistency and accuracy of language, grammar, and
punctuation. Ensure that terminology, acronyms, and definitions are used
consistently throughout the text. Verify the accuracy of any references,
citations, or data included in the document. Engaging and Accessible
Language: Use a writing style that is engaging and accessible to the target
audience. Avoid overly technical or jargon-heavy language that may hinder
comprehension. Strive for a balance between clarity and maintaining the
necessary depth and complexity required for the subject matter. Proofreading and Review:
Finally, carefully proofread the document to catch any spelling, grammar, or
formatting errors. Consider seeking feedback from peers or subject matter
experts to get additional perspectives and improve the overall quality of the
document. |
|
What were the
two or three things you did very well with the editing? |
|
1. Clarity and Coherence: One crucial aspect of editing is ensuring clarity
and coherence in the text. This involves reviewing the document to ensure
that the ideas are expressed clearly, the flow of information is logical, and
the transitions between paragraphs and sections are smooth. By refining
sentence structures, reorganizing content, and improving the overall
structure, the edited document can become more coherent and easier to understand. 2. Grammar and Language Usage: Another key aspect of editing is checking and
refining grammar, language usage, and word choice. This includes reviewing
sentence structure, punctuation, verb tense consistency, and eliminating any
grammatical errors or awkward phrasing. Effective editing ensures that the
language used is accurate, precise, and effectively conveys the intended
meaning. This enhances the readability and professionalism of the document. 3. Formatting and Presentation: Editing also involves paying attention to
formatting and presentation. Ensure that the document has a consistent
layout, headings, and formatting style throughout. Check for proper
indentation, bullet points, numbering, and appropriate use of fonts and
styles. A well-formatted document enhances readability and makes it easier
for readers to navigate and understand the content. |
5 |
LAYOUTING (Share your idea in written form) |
Layout basically means the arrangement of predetermined items such
as image, text and style on a page. It establishes the overall appearance and
relationships between the graphic elements to achieve a smooth flow of
message and eye movement for maximum effectiveness or impact. Layouting can
also mean the plan or design or arrangement of something laid out: such as
dummy sense or final arrangement of matter to be reproduced especially by
printing. |
|
Pragmatic Experiential Learning: Clear and Organized Structure: Ensure that the layout of your
document or presentation follows a clear and organized structure. Divide the
content into sections or chapters and use appropriate headings or subheadings
to guide readers. Consider using a consistent and logical numbering or bullet
point system to help readers navigate through the material easily. A
well-structured layout makes it easier for readers to locate specific
information and understand the flow of ideas. Visual Elements and Graphics: Incorporate visual elements and
graphics to enhance the presentation and engagement of the material. Utilize
relevant images, charts, diagrams, or infographics to illustrate concepts,
processes, or examples related to pragmatic experiential learning. These
visuals can provide visual cues, support understanding, and make the content
more visually appealing. Be sure to use high-quality graphics that are
properly formatted and aligned with the overall design. Consistent and Readable Typography: Pay attention to the
typography used in the layout. Choose fonts that are easy to read and
maintain consistency throughout the document. Consider using different font
styles, sizes, or colors to differentiate headings, subheadings, and body
text, making it visually appealing and guiding the reader's attention. Ensure
that the text has sufficient spacing, line height, and margin to improve readability.
Strike a balance between creativity and professionalism, ensuring that the
typography choices align with the purpose and tone of the document. Color Scheme and Visual Hierarchy: Select a suitable color scheme
that aligns with the content and purpose of your document or presentation.
Use colors strategically to create visual hierarchy and emphasize important
elements. For example, you can use bold or vibrant colors for headings,
subheadings, or key points to make them stand out. However, avoid excessive
use of colors that may distract or overwhelm the reader. Maintain a visually
pleasing balance while ensuring readability and accessibility. By considering these layouting aspects, you can create a
well-structured, visually engaging, and reader-friendly document or
presentation on pragmatic experiential learning. Remember to tailor the
layout to the specific audience and purpose of the material to maximize its
effectiveness. |
|
What were the
two or three things you did very well to layout your manuscript? |
|
1. Clear Section Divisions: One important aspect of manuscript layout is
clearly dividing the content into sections or chapters. Each section should
have a clear heading or title that stands out and helps readers navigate
through the manuscript. Consistent formatting, such as using the same font
style and size for headings, can make the sections visually distinct and aid
in readability. 2. Consistent Formatting and Typography: Maintaining consistent
formatting and typography throughout the manuscript is essential. This
includes using the same font family, font size, and line spacing for the body
text. Consistency in formatting helps create a cohesive visual experience for
readers and enhances the professional appearance of the manuscript. 3. Proper Use of Headings and Subheadings: Effective use of
headings and subheadings can improve the organization and readability of the
manuscript. Clear and informative headings allow readers to quickly grasp the
main points and navigate to relevant sections. Using a hierarchical structure
with different levels of headings can help readers follow the flow of the
manuscript and understand the relationships between different sections. 4. Appropriate Margins and Spacing: Setting appropriate
margins and spacing ensures that the text is comfortably readable. Sufficient
white space between paragraphs and sections helps prevent the manuscript from
appearing cluttered and overwhelming. Adequate margins on all sides of the
page allow for annotations or notes during the review process. 5. Inclusion of Figures and Tables: If applicable,
incorporating figures, tables, graphs, or other visual elements can enhance
the presentation of data or illustrate concepts in the manuscript. Ensure
that these visual elements are appropriately placed within the text and
clearly labeled with captions or titles. Consistent formatting and alignment
of visual elements can contribute to a visually appealing layout. |
